FAQ

What ages do you accept at Little Blooms Montessori? We welcome children ages 3–6 years old. This is the ideal window for Montessori education, when children are naturally curious and absorb new skills — including a second language — with remarkable ease.

What makes Little Blooms different from other preschools in Sandy? Most preschools teach children what to learn. At Little Blooms, we focus on how to love learning. Our certified Montessori teachers guide children in a warm, home-based environment where Spanish Dual Language Immersion is woven into every single day — not as an extra subject, but as a natural way of experiencing the world. It’s an education that stays with a child long after the school year ends.

Is Little Blooms a home-based school? Yes — and we consider it one of our greatest strengths. Our warm, home-like setting keeps class sizes small and intentional, so every child is truly known by their teachers. For many families it’s the perfect gentle first step into education, building the confidence and independence children need to thrive in kindergarten and beyond.

What is the Montessori method? Montessori is a research-backed educational approach developed by Dr. Maria Montessori that focuses on hands-on, child-led learning. Children work with specially designed materials at their own pace in a prepared environment, building independence, confidence, and critical thinking skills from an early age.

How does the Spanish Dual Language Immersion program work? Spanish is woven naturally into the daily classroom experience — not taught as a separate subject. Children hear, speak, and engage with Spanish throughout the day alongside English, allowing them to develop true bilingual fluency during the most critical language development years.

Is Little Blooms a licensed facility? Yes! Little Blooms Montessori is a fully licensed childcare facility in the state of Utah. Our teachers are certified in Montessori methods and philosophy, ensuring your child receives a high-quality, safe, and nurturing education.

What does a typical day look like at Little Blooms? Each day includes extended Montessori work periods where children choose activities that match their interests and developmental level, Spanish language immersion throughout the day, group circle time, outdoor play, and enrichment activities such as art, music, and practical life skills. Once a month, children also enjoy a local community field trip that brings Montessori learning to life in the real world.

Do you offer any special activities or field trips? Yes! We believe learning extends beyond the classroom. Once a month, Little Blooms children get to explore the local community through a fun, educational field trip. These outings bring Montessori values to life — sparking curiosity, independence, and a sense of wonder in the real world. Past trips have included Thanksgiving Point, Tracy Aviary, and Red Butte Gardens and Arboretum.
