Preschool Curriculum

Montessori Method
At Little Blooms Montessori Preschool, we employ several high-quality sources to implement our program and provide your children with a well-rounded and exciting curriculum.
The Montessori Research & Development albums for Early Childhood are the foundation of our studies. The company was founded in 1980 and the albums were developed by American Montessori Society (AMS) credentialed instructors. The albums for Early Childhood consist of the following: Sensorial, Mathematics, Practical Life, Geography & History, Botany, Zoology, and Language Arts.
Additionally, we use the complete 12-month Montessori curriculum daily lesson plans developed by Robin Norgren, MA, the owner of Josey’s Art School and Bright Child Montessori. These lesson plans include AMS training integration of all 9 Montessori Early Childhood albums plus detailed science experiments, art lessons, recipes (cooking), and song + movement activities.
Language studies
Starting in October of 2022, Little Blooms Montessori Preschool is excited to offer the complete Waseca Language materials package for the Primary Classroom. Details can be found at the following link. Additionally, we include both Pink Language series by Alison Montessori and by Montessori R&D.
Science
In addition to our 12-month curriculum, we supplement our science studies with our subscription to Hands-on-Kids-Activities (HOKA) Club materials as we follow our children’s interests and create monthly study units.
Geography
Beginning in February 2023, we will add the Waseca Continent Studies package for the primary classroom to our curriculum! Details can be found at the following link. Additionally, our HOKA Club membership provides us with printable materials and arts + craft ideas for geography studies to engage our learners.
Communication
Little Blooms uses Transparent Classroom (an online Montessori record keeping platform) for daily communication regarding your child’s progress through the Montessori Early Childhood curriculum. We also use OneSpot for billing and forms.
Health + Wellness

Hand Sanitizing
Everyone entering Little Blooms will sanitize or wash their hands.
Healthy Preschoolers
Preschool students should only attend school if healthy. Any signs of cough, cold, runny nose, flu, fever, vomiting/diarrhea, stomach upset, eye discharge or pink eye, nasal discharge, loss of sense of taste or smell, and/or body aches are indicators that students should remain at home. If a child has any of these symptoms when they arrive, they will be asked to return home.
Parents will be called to pick up students who exhibit any of these symptoms while at school. A student should be free of any symptoms for a minimum of 24 hours after being ill before returning to school. Above all, we ask you to be mindful and consider the teachers and other students that may be affected.
Our goal is to stay healthy. We must be vigilant. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation in this important matter.
Enhanced Building Cleaning Procedures
All learning areas will be frequently disinfected including door handles, railings, and bathrooms daily. Little Blooms will use disinfectants/sanitizers effective against COVID-19 (approved list at EPA.gov).
Mandatory Student Sanitary Measures
Students will wash hands prior to eating snack, lunch, after being outside and after using the toilet.
Masks: Masks are not required. However, if you feel more comfortable sending your child wearing a mask, you are encouraged to do so.
